Mood Effects of Serotonin Agonists Extended

This triple-blind, randomized, crossover trial (n=80) aims to investigate the effects of repeated very low doses of serotonin agonists on individuals with negative mood. This trial, sponsored by the University of Chicago, utilized a serotonin agonist, specifically 13ug of lysergic acid diethylamide (LSD), and a placebo for comparison. The participants’ mood states were measured using the Profile of Mood States (POMS), a validated scale that assesses positive and negative mood states. The trial commenced on April 20, 2019, and was completed on June 7, 2021.
