Jessica Nielson (Ph.D.) is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, University of Minnesota. The purpose of her lab is to understand and treat trauma, using a multidisciplinary approach that merges neurobiology, psychiatry, and data science to identify novel targets for treatment. Her research also focuses on the neuroscience of psychedelics and drug policy reform.
Dr. Nielson is conducting prospective clinical research into the neurological mechanisms of altered states of consciousness, currently with the drug psilocybin, to understand how such drug-induced experiences promote neuroplasticity and wellness.
