While the University of Arizona may not have a dedicated centre for psychedelic research, a number of researchers within the Department of Psychiatry have had a longstanding interest in the field. In 2006, Dr Francisco Moreno conducted one of the first modern clinical trials using psilocybin to treat OCD from the university. Dr Moreno, along with Dr Brian Bayze, has continued to conduct research into this particular area of psychedelic science at the University of Arizona ever since the 2006 trial.
