Panacea Plant Sciences has agreed to assign patents regarding Lophophora williamsii (Peyote) cultivation, extraction and use to indigenous groups and to help these groups develop patents to protect their sacred medicines. Additionally, 32% of the equity of Panacea Plant Sciences (in perpetuity) may only be owned by Indigenous Groups. Panacea will be equally dividing this amongst the Indigenous non-profit Sia and the Indigenous Medicines Conservation Fund.
