Oregon Health & Science University

Psychedelic research is underway at the Oregon Health & Science University. Dr. Chris Stauffer (MD) is serving as the principal investigator on a trial exploring the effects of psilocybin-assisted therapy on methamphetamine use disorder. Dr. Stauffer has perveiously been involved in with MAPS Phase II and Phase III studies with MDMA and currently directs the Social Neuroscience and Psychotherapy (SNAP) lab at OHSU where psychedelic research is taking place.

SNAP Lab aims to maximize the benefits of therapeutic alliance and psychotherapy through the adjunct use of social psychopharmacology, such as oxytocin, MDMA, and psilocybin.

As Oregon became the first state to legalize psilocybin mushrooms, we anticipate that more research will emerge from research institutions like OHSU in the state in the near future.
