Yasmin Schmid is a medical doctor specialized in general medicine and clinical pharmacology and toxicology. She worked for several years in the department of clinical pharmacology and toxicology at the University Hospital Basel and in the psychopharmacology research group of Matthias Liechti. At the moment, she is working as a physician in the emergency department.
In her research, she conducted several placebo-controlled, double-blind, cross-over studies concerning the effects of MDMA and LSD in healthy subjects, with special focus on the effects of these drugs on social cognition, but also acute and long-term effects. She is planning a study in patients with LSD in patients suffering from cluster headaches.
