This May, our team has been hard at work on a research report for a private client. We’ve built upon our extensive – but broad – knowledge of the psychedelic research landscape to map out where we see opportunities. The information produced is currently only for the client, but I hope that indirectly some of the insights will be reflected in our daily, weekly, and monthly coverage of the psychedelic landscape.
The near-daily essays have continued, it was great starting them by doing 30 back-to-back (with weekends off), and we will now transition to about three per week. If anyone is looking for inspiration, I can highly recommend the work by Nicholas Cole and Dickie Bush (the books are awesome, the course may be good but if you have a lot of structure already, I think you can do without it).
All that being said, here are the milestones that we achieved this May 2022:
- Finished first version of a private report
- Published daily articles (workdays)
- Updated map project (see below)
- Attended PSYCH Symposium (and met a lot of awesome people there)
- Mapped out the new report
June 2022 Blossom Plans
The coming month will be a change of pace. Not only will we spend less time on the private project, but we will also go public with our cooperation with the OPEN Foundation (you read it here first). Together with them, we will organise the ICPR Science Meets Business conference day at the start of ICPR 2022. That means we will lead the effort to put together an awesome business event that will be as great as the one at Horizons.
Starting today, you will be hearing a lot from us about the event, so here is a first pitch:
The Science Meets Business event at ICPR 2022 brings together 200 attendees and world-class speakers who are shaping the rapidly expanding psychedelic ecosystem. Join us on Wednesday the 21st of September, for a front-row seat to leading thinkers in psychedelic business, research, and academia.
You’re invited to an in-depth and critical discussion about the intersection of psychedelic research, treatments, and investment, and how the growing economy around psychedelics impacts science and therapy. How can investments and the proliferation of startups be made compatible with core values and public benefit, such as optimal patient care, accessible, and equitable treatments? What potential business models are there to consider?
Science Meets Business provides a unique opportunity to engage with the builders who are taking psychedelics into the real world. Hear from world-class speakers about psychedelic implementation, access, consulting, and funding. Network with fellow entrepreneurs, investors, academics, and policymakers forging the psychedelic renaissance.
Science Meets Business is a collaboration between the OPEN Foundation, North Star, and Blossom. Together we explore value-based and science-driven approaches to building and funding the psychedelic ecosystem.
Pretty awesome if you ask me, I hope to see you there.
Now, onto the milestones for June 2022:
- Put together everything for ICPR Science Meets Business (first speakers already confirmed & first tickets sold)
- Launch the map project (now for real, all ducks in a row)
- Publish the partner report (free to read for all, alas the partner is slow, but the report is ready!)
- Continue work on private client project
- Continue 3x p/w articles & publishing interviews
