Neurobiology and Pharmacokinets of Acute MDMA Administration

This double-blind cross-over trial (n=187) investigates how the body processes MDMA (70-113mg/70kg). This is done by studying neurobiology (brain effects) and pharmacokinetics (how the body processes a drug).

Though other papers about this study are probably published (see all papers by the lead researcher), we report here on one that reports on 26 participants and their plasma concentrations of MDMA:

The MDA/MDMA ratios in plasma were higher than those in OF (p < 0.001), and the MDA/MDMA ratios significantly increased over time in OF and plasma. The MDMA and MDA concentrations were higher in OF than in plasma. OF and plasma concentrations were correlated, but large inter-subject variability precludes the estimation of plasma concentrations from OF.

A large set of the trials in our database are sourced from ClinicalTrials.gov (CTG). We have modified these post to display the information in a more clear format or to correct spelling mistakes. Our database in actively updated and may show a different status (e.g. completed) if we have knowledge of this update (e.g. a published paper on the study) which isn't reflected yet on CTG. If a trial is not sourced from CTG, this is indicated on this page and you can follow the link to the alternative source of information.
