Celia Morgan is a Professor of Psychopharmacology at the University of Exeter. Her research interests lie in the effects of drugs and alcohol on the brain and human behaviour. She has investigated the therapeutic potential of controlled substances in clinical trials aimed at the treatment of addiction through behavioural studies, neuroimaging and clinical trials. Dr. Morgan is particularly interested in investigating drugs such as ketamine and MDMA in combination with psychological therapies.
Dr. Morgan is leading a number of studies sponsored by Awakn Life Sciences from the University of Exeter. She led a recent trial exploring the effects of ketamine in those with alcohol use disorder and will lead the worlds first trial exploring ketamine-assisted therapy for gambling addiction.
