Gitte Moos Knudsen is the Chair Professor at the Neurology and Neurobiology Research Unit, Copenhagen University Hospital, and director of the Center for Experimental Medicine Neuropharmacology (NeuroPharm).
She is a translational neurobiologist and clinical neurologist with an interest in advanced methodological developments with particular emphasis on molecular brain imaging. Her work entails the use of PET brain scanning to image brain receptors and receptor occupancy, and fMRI to evaluate drug effects (e.g. psilocybin) on the brain hemodynamic response as well as the brain regional interactions, i.e., functional connectivity. Professor Knudsen has previously held positions at the National Institute of Health and Mass General as a visiting scientist.
