Dr. Alex Kwan is an Associate Professor for Neuroscience at the Yale School of Medicine. He received his Ph.D. in Physics from Cornell University, where he developed nonlinear optical microscopes, and later went on to study cortical microcircuits. He joined the faculty at Yale School of Medicine in 2013.
Research in the Kwan lab focuses on the mouse medial frontal cortex. They are interested in how dendritic plasticity may underlie the actions of psychiatric drugs (e.g. ketamine, psilocybin) and how cortical circuits enable flexible decision-making.
