Psykedeelit 2025, themed “Challenging Psychedelics,” is a three-day conference addressing critical challenges in psychedelic research through a multidisciplinary lens. Taking place in Turku, Finland, the conference aims to tackle pressing issues in the field, including methodological concerns in clinical trials, the controversial aspects of mystical experiences, and questions of indigenous knowledge appropriation.
The conference features three distinguished keynote speakers: Michiel van Elk from Leiden University, focusing on methodological aspects of psychedelic research; Christine Hauskeller from Exeter University, addressing decolonisation in psychedelic science; and Dr. Daniel Villiger from Oxford University, exploring bioethical considerations in psychedelic-assisted therapy.
The organisers, led by the Finnish Association for Psychedelic Research in collaboration with researchers from various Finnish universities, have opened a call for papers welcoming submissions from all scientific disciplines, with particular interest in works that challenge established notions in psychedelic research. With accessible registration fees starting at €65 and available discounts for students and others, the conference aims to foster inclusive dialogue and rigorous academic discourse in the evolving field of psychedelic studies.
