BTT Professional Training is a three-day course designed to teach mental health care providers the basics of Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP). The course is instructed by Dr Dawn DeCunha, a clinical psychologist with decades of experience in trauma-informed assessment and treatment.
Participants will learn how to safely screen patients, explain the process, provide basic education about how ketamine works on the brain, develop a ‘set’ or intention for the journey, teach and practice several ‘expanded state’ skills to manage potential distress, establish clients’ self-care routine, prepare the patient for their ketamine journey, safely conduct a journey online, assist patients through distress moments during the dose session, manage disappointments, help integrate the experience, help establish a sustainable after-care routine, facilitate an integration circle, and specify therapist’s own self-care routine.
Course eligibility is open to psychologists, clinical therapists such as RP’s, SW’s, and other Regulated Healthcare Professionals who have a valid license in their respective colleges. BTT Professional Training provides a good start to learning the basics of psychedelic psychotherapy, with additional medical training needed for working with patients undergoing IV or IM Ketamine treatments in a medical clinic.
