University of Utah

Research with psychedelics is underway at the University of Utah. At the university, researchers are working with the Usona Institute exploring psilocybin-assisted group therapy in patients with cancer.

More research is likely as lawmakers recently introduced a bill that would set up a task force to study and make recommendations on the therapeutic potential of psychedelic drugs and possible regulations for their lawful use.

UU hosts the Utah Psychedelic Science Interest Group (U-PSI), “an open monthly forum for faculty members, residents, scientists, broader University of Utah faculty, and interested community members to discuss the emerging clinical and neuroscientific research on psychedelics (including MDMA and ketamine) as well as interdisciplinary perspectives on the cultural, social, and historical themes involved with this class of compounds in an academically rigorous fashion.”
