The University of Toronto established the Psychedelic Studies Research Program (PRSP) in order to develop standards for the rigorous study of psychedelics while initiating collaborations with other research groups and industry partners, and ultimately, sharing the findings with the wider community. The PRSP is initially focusing on gaining a better understanding of microdosing.
In October 2021, the University of Toronto received a $5 million donation from the Nikean Foundation in order to establish the Nikean Psychedelic Psychotherapy Research Centre within the Centre for Mental Health at University Health Network (UNH), the Universities health research association.
