Effects of MDMA Co-administration on the Response to LSD in Healthy Subjects (LSD-MDMA)

By releasing serotonin and oxytocin, MDMA reliably induces a positive mood, feelings of euphoria, comfort, empathy, and feelings of trust. If administered in combination with LSD, MDMA may increase the positive subjective drug effect and reduce negative emotions and anxiety associated with LSD and overall produce a more positive over negative experience.

This is a Phase I clinical trial to assess the subjective and autonomic effects of LSD alone and in combination with MDMA. It is one of the first studies to test this combination and if successful, may open new avenues for the use of LSD in psychedelic research.

This trial aims to recruit 24 participants and use a randomized crossover assignment, with a double-blind, placebo-control intervention model.
