The Autism Diagnostic Interview-Revised (ADI-R) is a structured interview with a parent or caregiver to obtain the developmental history and current behaviours of an individual aged 2 or above. The interview comprises 93 items that aid in the diagnosis of autism, planning treatment and distinguishing autism from other developmental conditions. Administered by a medical professional, the ADI-R focuses on three domains; language/communication, reciprocal social interactions and restricted, repetitive and stereotyped behaviours and interests.
